BOSTON —

There is research that says adding certain ingredients to your meal plan can relieve anxiety — even fight depression.

Inside a demo kitchen at Mass General Hospital’s HealthCare Center in Revere, Dr. Uma Naidoo said she has all of the foods she needs to feel better.

“I’m so glad that we have kale and we have lettuces here,” she said as she picked up a bunch of spinach. “I love steaming it. I love sautéing it with a little bit of garlic.”

With a degree from Harvard, a clinic at Mass General Hospital, and awards from culinary schools, Naidoo literally wrote the book on nutritional psychology.
