Under nursing or medical supervision, perform medical assistant duties which include assisting techniques; aseptic techniques; takes care of instruments; sick visit history

The Outpatient Registered Dietitian is responsible for comprehensive medical nutrition therapy using evidence-based practice under the general clinical supervision of the Medical Director. Requires strong interpersonal and interviewing skills for competence in both clinical and managerial areas to support this growing community health center.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Proficient in providing Nutrition Services for pediatrics through geriatric age groups.

• Accurately documents the nutrition care plan and assessment based on food and nutrition related history, anthropometric data, medical history, socioeconomic factors, labs, etc. then maintains precise ongoing records per policies and procedures.

• Coordinate with interdisciplinary staff regarding any nutrition related issues influencing overall patient progress; participates in patient care meetings to discuss relevant care issues.

• Educate patient, family members, and significant others about diet modifications for home and individualizes plan to meet specific needs, cultural food preferences, and usual eating pattern.

• Actively engages in process improvement and quality initiatives to advance the delivery of nutrition care with limited resources.

• Demonstrates ability to communicate and relate to a diverse group of patient, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.

• Demonstrates ability to prioritize work with limited resources.

 

Minimum Entrance Qualifications: Qualifications & Skills

■ Active Licensed Registered Dietitian (LDN) with Commonwealth of MA – Required

■ Active Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) with Commission on Dietetic Registration – Required

■ National Provider Identity (NPI) – Strongly Preferred

■ Minimum of 1 year experience working as an RD in a community setting – Preferred.

■ Bilingual Spanish and/or Haitian Creole – Preferred
