As the incoming Medical Director, Dr. Ellis is honored to join the 50+ year legacy of Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center’s commitment to providing accessible quality health care services to the surrounding community. She plans to lead the charge to incorporate her personal experiences to recognize the role of socioeconomic, cultural and educational barriers that influence health outcomes and impede access to care.
Dr. Ellis is a proud graduate of Yale University and Boston University School of Medicine. She is a board-certified Family Medicine Physician with particular interests in Maternal Child Health, Sexual Health, HIV prevention/treatment and Youth education/enrichment. During her training and beyond, community outreach has been her primary focus and passion. While earning her medical degree at BUSM, Dr. Ellis successfully founded and piloted STEP “Science Teaching Enrichment Program” — an after-school program that continues to serve local Roxbury and Dorchester youth. In 2017,
Dr. Ellis was awarded a community service achievement award from Yale University to highlight her commitment to service. As the medical director, she plans to continue her quest to expand beyond the walls of the traditional health care system to provide programming related to health literacy, chronic disease management and mental health services.
Dr. Ellis looks forward to welcoming all new patients and thanks all longtime patients for making Harvard Street Neighborhood Center their medical home.
