First Name: Kai Phillip
Kai Phillip, a recipient of a Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Bay State College, has been a part of the Banking and Finance and Health Care Industries, allowing opportunities to strengthen her customer service skills, among others.
Kai is currently employed as the Branch Manager at the Brookline Bank office located in Back Bay, Boston. With excitement, motivation and dedication to her branch team, customers and community, Kai created a contagious environment of cooperation, communication and an infectious spirit at her previous work at Eastern Bank. She built new relationships with local community centers and non-profit organizations by facilitating and presenting alongside her associates, formal and informal financial literacy workshops and Q&As that taught individuals about banking and saving money. She worked in the Cambridge and Roxbury branches within her four years at Eastern Bank.
Through her community involvement in Cambridge, she sat on the Board of Directors for The Loop Lab, which is a Cambridge-based non-profit social enterprise specializing in media arts internships and digital storytelling from 2018-2019. Its mission is to empower underrepresented groups in the media arts, like women and people of color, to develop careers in audio/video through job training and job placement. She continues a close relationship with the organization and runs their financial literacy workshops for the young adults.
Kai’s daily involvement in overseeing the branch activities at Eastern Bank, introduces her to strategic planning, leadership development and team building. In 2018, she was elected as co-chair for the Black Professional Alliance (BPA) social networking group within Eastern Bank. The BPA mission is to attract, retain and develop diverse talent and to increase networking and business opportunities by bringing awareness to the communities where we live, serve and work.
Outside of her work with Eastern Bank, she has been an active member of the Wadadli Cultural Association (WCA) since 2013. WCA strives to educate and inspire others to learn about the culture of Antigua and Barbuda while supporting the community through various social, cultural, and volunteer activities. She is part of the event planning committee and co-hosts their annual Antigua and Barbuda Independence Banquet.
A native Bostonian, from the area of Roxbury, Kai is a working professional who resides in the community. She wants to be apart of the solution for the challenges she witnesses in the community.
