harvard street 2025 annual report
A Message From Our CEO & Board Chair

At Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center, our mission—to deliver high-quality, accessible healthcare to the diverse communities we serve, regardless of a person’s ability to pay—remains at the heart of everything we do.

Each year brings new challenges and opportunities, and this year has been no exception.

Our team’s dedication is the driving force behind our success. Their extraordinary efforts have allowed us to serve our community with empathy, professionalism, and excellence.

Over the past year, Harvard Street achieved measurable growth and impact:

  • 9,650+ patients served — a 23% increase from the previous year
  • Expanded partnerships with local organizations, including Boston Medical Center
  • Strengthened services across family medicine, dental, and behavioral health departments
  • Growth of the Veteran Outreach Center, providing vital services to more Veterans and their families as well as continued growth of our food pantry

These accomplishments reflect both the trust our community places in us and the commitment of our entire team.

As we move forward, we remain steadfast in our core values of compassion, excellence, and equity. We recognize that challenges lie ahead, but we are confident that—together—we will continue to remove barriers to care, advance health equity, and foster stronger, healthier communities.

We extend our deepest appreciation to our staff, board members, partners, patients and supporters for your unwavering dedication to Harvard Street. Your continued support makes our work possible and together we will continue building a healthier, more equitable future for all.

Serving Those Who Served — Harvard Street Veterans Outreach Center

Harvard Street is proud to be one of the only community health center’s in Massachusetts with a Veterans Outreach Center. Since 2016, the Veteran Outreach Center (VOC) has served over 400 veterans in Boston and surrounding communities.

Veterans Outreach Director, Kathryn King, who is herself a US Veteran, and Veterans Outreach Coordinator, Assiatu Bah, together work to ensure that all Veterans feel welcomed. The Veterans Outreach Center provides an array of services for Veterans and their families including Case Management, referrals for Primary Care, Behavioral Health, Dental and Vision, VA Disability Benefits Claims Assistance, Housing Referrals for homeless or at-risk Veterans, Financial support for emergency circumstances, and the Uber transport program. In addition, the Veterans Outreach Center offers weekly Veteran Breakfasts & Social Gatherings, the bi-weekly Veteran “Lunch & Learn Speaker Series” — which has included some 20 speakers since its inception in September 2024 — and the very popular Veterans Deep Sea Fishing Trip.

The VOC provides a beautiful space which includes a computer lab for our Boots 2 Technology 101 Computer Class — an 8 week program offered in the Fall and Spring that includes free laptops for graduates.

Thank you to Comcast and Timothy Smith Network for donating laptops.
