GALA to celebrate Harvard Street Neighborhood Health 50th Anniversary

Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a host of community leaders, patients, corporate and human service supporters, and staff on Friday,October 4th with a sold-out event at The Exchange in Boston’s Waterfront.

President and CEO Stan McLaren and his Board Chair Bonnie Brathwaite gave impassioned speeches about the Center and he and the Board of Director’s plans to increase its level of care and footprint with expansion plans to build a new health center and affordable housing at its Dorchester site.

Several leaders were honored for their role in advancing Harvard Street over the past 50 years, while celebrating with those who are committed to its future growth.

The Honorees included: first Executive Director E. Lorraine Baugh with the President’s Award
Boston Police Commissioner William Gross with the Trailblazer Award
two past CEO’s were recognized Allen Ball and Charley Murphy; and
Athenahealth Co-founder Jonathan Bush who closed the program by leading an auction from the podium which raised nearly $60,000 to support Harvard Street!
A special award was given to Harvard Street by both the Massachusetts and National Association of Community Health Centers.
